The E-Security Exchange will soon be offering an online training programme on fraud prevention and data security. The material is being prepared by some of the UK’s leading financial crime and security experts: Steven Philippsohn; Anthony Riem; Trevor Mascarenhas; David Watson; Professor Bill Buchanan and a team of e-learning specialists. Steven Philippsohn has over 20 years experience of working on behalf of major UK and global corporates, governmental departments and individuals who have been the victims of fraud. He is a member of the Home Office panel that recently produced a report on the future of Internet crime. He is also Chairman of the Cybercrime Working Party, Deputy Director of the Fraud Advisory Panel and England's exclusive legal representative on the International Chamber of Commerce's Fraudnet: established to become the world's leading network of fraud lawyers specialising in white collar crime. Anthony Riem: is a member of the Law Society Working Party on Civil Fraud, the author of the chapter on this subject in 'Fraud: Law, Practice and Procedure'and a contributor to the UK Fraud Manual of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Trevor Mascarenhas has conducted a number of multi-million dollar international fraud cases involving aluminium, oil, real estate and credit card processing companies. He writes for the UK Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners' Fraud Manual and the E-Commerce Law Reports. Steven, Anthony and Trevor have had their cases publicised extensively in the media and have been called upon to present cases on fraud-related issues to organisations such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Public Finance, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy as well as a number of government institutions. David Watson is a computer professional with over twenty years experience of advising organisations on risk management through effective information security, disaster recovery and business continuity planning. He is a senior security adviser to the UK Government Communications Headquarters and holds the prestigious qualification as a Principal Lead Auditor with the International Council Register of Auditors. His additional qualifications are extensive and include: Certified Fraud Examiner; Certified Information Forensics Investigator; Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Accredited Expert Witness member of the Metropolitan Police Computer Crime Unit Expert Panel. Bill Buchanan is a Professor in the School of Computing (SoC) at Napier University , Edinburgh. He has published over 25 text books (many of which have been translated into Chinese, Polish and Japanese) and over 80 research papers. These include definitive guides on software development, data communications, networking and the Internet. He has an international reputation in security, networking, and digital forensics, and has a forthcoming handbook on data and network security . He leads the Centre for Mobile Computing and Security at Napier University . This is a large and growing research centre that is dedicated to the successful transfer of knowledge to professionals across industry sectors. Prof. Buchanan has won several awards for excellence, including the Knowledge Transfer Programme Awards 2003 and 2004. He is currently undertaking Research and Development projects on behalf of the Financial Services Association and the Scottish Institute for Policing Research. Previous clients who have used his security software include the US Military and the National Health Service. |
